If Santa gave you a new computer or laptop for Christmas, you might want to take a quick look at some other Antivirus besides those that automatically shipped with your machine.

Sometimes those trial offers are not the best fit, and you may want to remove them while you can and put in the Antivirus software of your choice.

AntiVirusDownload.com offers Norton AntiVirus 2007 download for download along with a number of other useful products that will help you port programs and files over to your new system with the least amount of hassle. PLus, they also offer Symantec PC PC anywhere and several other Norton utilities.

WRF Sues Nokia, Samsung and Panasonic

Motorola may have had some bad news today, but they were noticeably absent from a line up of consumer electronics manufactures that are being sued by the Washington Research Foundation (WRF) for using Bluetooth technology, which WRF claims is an infringement on their patents.

The suit alleges that the companies Nokia, Samsung and Panasonic (part of Matsushita) used technology from CSR Plc out of the United Kingdom that infringed on the 3 of 4 patents that WRF holds on the technology.

Shares of CSR fell after the announcement of the lawsuit.  It would appear that the larger conglomerates might be at least the victim of not performing enough due diligence into the IP rights of one of their outsourced vendor partners.

Knowing a Good Casino Hotel When You See It

As I finalized my travel plans for CES this week, it became abundantly clear to me that many of the travel sites from Orbits to Travelocity to Expedia can be a big pain.

Many times, I saw what might have been a good deal.  But not knowing the hotel or its area had no idea if I was going into a denizen of debauchery or into a world class hotel.

Now I have stayed at some of the finest hotels that Vegas has to offer, but this year, my budget is a little lighter and I rarely get much use out of the hotel room anyway.  I just need a safe place to sleep and keep my stuff secure.

I found a unique site that focuses on providing reviews of Las Vegas Hotels.  The cool thing about the site is that they put the hotels in summary form on the front page so you can look at all the hotels at the same time and get the 1 through 5 star view.  From there you can click in further and get more information about the hotel.

Sometimes displaying information successfully just requires a simple layout that fits on one page!

If you are looking for reviews on Las Vegas Casinos, you should check out Las-Vegas.Cruzino.com. Here’s a quick shot of what I’m talking about as far as their user friendly layout is concerned.

Just a simple little Web 2.0 arrangement!

We’re also proud to add Las-Vegas.Cruzino.com to our list of sponsors!

SanDisk Flash Hard Drive 100 times faster and half the Power Consumption

SanDisk released its new 32 Gigabyte hard drive in advance of the Consumer Electronics Show this year.  Their new solid state hard drive promises to be almost 100 times faster than conventional laptop hard drives, and it will consume about 0.4 watts of power during active use compared with regular hard drives sucking down a full 1.0 watts.

That will spell faster speeds and longer batter life for laptop users and possibly open the door for larger hard drives in mobile devices in the future from PDA’s to MP3 players.

All that flash comes at a price and right now its expected that the drive will add a $600 premium to the price of any device lucky enough to have it.  So in the short term this is probably going to be a device targeted to people computing in high performance areas where speed is essential.  Secondary users will include heavy travelers that need more battery life and have a lot of pull with budget approving accountants back at the office.

New Search Engine Coming-Megaglobe

A new search engine is coming.  Its called Megaglobe. They have been building indexes for several months now, and are currently accepting site submissions for inclusion in the index.

If you want to insure that your site gets index, it takes just a second to enter your URL and submit it for submission to be searched by Megaglobe bots behind the scenes.

I have been monitoring this site for a while and am interested to see the end result as it rolls out in the near future. . .
