Technical Outsourcing Management
Often time in Maven Mapper’s I talk about specific tools to manage the information, knowledge, tools, software, gadgets that we already have.
A topic that keeps recurring for me recently is the topic of Technical Outsourcing Management or what to do when you or your business needs extra technical help or support to get something to market on time. Often times our knowledge and skills put us in positions where we can see the scope of an issue and the dimension of demands to achieve a goal. Sometimes those dimensions are outside of our direct realm of influence and we must look outwards.
I’m undergoing a search and review for outsource partners. Recently I have identified two new graphic design firms that I am beginning to outsource work towards. Increasingly, I’m finding a need to outsource more and more work in the programming and web optimization area.
Now, I have identified a company called Sagewing, Services For Web Designers, that offers a number of web design services from programming, shopping carts, web optimization even work and experience writing portions or entire technical specifications in response to RFP’s. Increasingly as companies begin to collaborate with partners from around the world it is becoming even more important to identify those resources that might help us leverage our knowledge of a situation and turn it into business growth without building up an unnecessary infrastructure.
