More than a dozen years ago I tried this program when it was on version 4 or 5. I used it to scan hundreds of pages of documents from an out dated field audit. I scanned page after page of data sets such that I could compare these data sets against current testing results within a spreadsheet or database.
I had done the Cost-Benefit analysis and found that spending a relatively small amount of money to purchase the software and scan the documents for optical character reading versus hiring a staff of temporary workers to fill up the office typing for a week was much more cost effective, and my analysis was correct. The project came in ahead of time, under budget and I'll never think twice about using OCR technology to get the heavy lifting done!
